Avalon Shores Waiting
There is a rainbow greeting me today from one end of the horizon to
the other and with it a rounded sway of colors of promise. Red, yellow and purple it seems, a complete
bow, arched across the Western blue-stained sky. As a good morning wish to me, the
Sun from the East is rising from its sleep to greet me as it heats up a brand new
day. With it comes a hazing of salty mist that seasons the welcome warm morning skies as I approach the docks. I can see the naked boardwalk slowly come alive in the distance with muffled chatter as surfers with boards and tourists toting kids and camera, hustle to carve out their day. The locals now migrating with coffee and dog, strolling casually down the palmed lined path as they do again and again to feel alive just one more day. Above the
shallow surf, a "Brown Pelican" cruises steadily and evenly above the
wrinkled and foamy surface of the water, in search of a breakfast of familiar fish. Lovers locked
arm in arm stealing a kiss or hug to pull warmth from one another until the Sun takes over when vertical in the morning sky.
